I am sitting at home near Campbeltown watching the snow fall on snow and becoming more frustrated as I am the volunteer garden co-ordinator for the Campbeltown Community Organic Garden (CCOG) and passionate gardener. ![]() Basil I have to be satisfied by sowing early seeds in my propagator in my conservatory and getting on with my current CCOG project – creating a herb dryer which we hope will increase interest in our community garden. We are on a south sloping walled garden site (belonging to Auchinlee Eventide Home) with breathtaking views over Campbeltown Loch. We have created several vegetable raised ‘deep beds’, normal beds, herb, sensory and wildlife garden. One year ago I took over as Kintyre Environmental Group’s Chairman (KEG) who oversee the garden project but with little volunteer input benign neglect had taken its toll and we needed to begin again. We have made a great deal of progress and feel this year we will have a full gardening season with school, community groups and visitors enjoying using and viewing CCOG.
