Clooney Says Good Knightley!
George Clooney is getting all unnecessary over Brit babe Keira Knightley, who is currently shooting The Jacket opposite Oscar winner/champion smoocher Adrien Brody. Clooney is executive producer on the film - apparently some sort of romantic time travelling/murder mystery guff - and reckons it was Keira's turn in Pirates Of The Caribbean that caught his (roving) eye.

He put it like this: "I thought she was fantastic in Pirates Of The Caribbean. She's just a movie star. You know, it's an intangible that you're never really able to describe." Yeah, yeah, yeah... He carried on to add: "I think she'll do really well. Adrien Brody and she are going to be doing stuff together." Whatever that means... "I think they just make a terrific looking couple on screen. I think it's going to be great."
Oliver Stone Bigs Up Alexander
Director Oliver Stone and cussmeister Colin Farrell are getting sandblasted in Morocco, on the set of historical epic Alexander. Speaking at the Marrakech International Film Festival, the director said, "The weather's been a little tricky, with sandstorms and rain that surprised us. But we're pushing on."

Of Baz Luhrmann's untitled Alexander project, Stone recently said, "Baz has got a great vision, a very strong director - very interesting. No doubt, he can do something extravagant and beautiful." On Luhrmann's decision to cast Leonardo DiCaprio he had this to say: "It certainly would have been more difficult for them if they'd gone first with Leo DiCaprio, because he's a bigger star [than Colin Farrell]. But I really believe in Colin Farrell. I think Colin's got true grit, and I think he will surprise people as Alexander."

For once, Colin Farrell kept his foul mouth shut.
The Guide To Bad Housekeeping?
Director Vadim Perelman's film debut The House Of Sand And Fog, starring Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly, wants an Oscar for its mantelpiece. The brass at DreamWorks has arranged a month of exclusive screenings for Academy members in advance of its US release in December, but so far it isn't generating much excitement among US critics.

Supporting player Frances Fisher (Titanic) told us: "It sounds kind of lame when you think of it as two people fighting over a house. But it's more about security, and what the house represents.

"It takes a look at the facades we put up and how, in an instant, your life can change," Fisher persists. "It has some serious consequences. I just saw it, and this movie reverberates and stays with you."

On working with Jennifer Connolly she comments: "Still waters run deep with that girl. She's such a very subtle actress, and so effective. It says a lot that she chooses such heavy and emotional material, and does so well with it."
Bourne To Be Wild
You'll know him as Éomer in The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, but Kiwi thesp Karl Urban is now lined up to play Matt Damon's nemesis in The Bourne Supremacy. Urban rounds out a cast that already includes Matt Damon, Franka Potente, and Joan Allen. The sequel to The Bourne Identity will begin shooting at the end of the year with Brit director Paul Greengrass at the helm.
The Man Who Saved Don Quixote?
Andrew Davis is the man behind Collateral Damage, but he asks you not to hold it against him, because he may be stepping into Terry Gilliam's shoes to revive The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. (Gilliam had already begun work on the film when a catalogue of disasters shut down production - as chronicled in Lost In La Mancha.)

Andrew told Moviehole: "I'm thinking of doing Don Quixote. It's very complicated, but I'm in talks. I've got to do it right. If I got to make it, I'd like to make it with someone like Jon Voight, you know. Or someone like John Leguizamo - who probably aren't big enough stars to get it greenlit. If Johnny Depp said he wanted to do it again right now, we'd get the money. We'll see."

Between bouts of wishful thinking, Andrew Davis is currently promoting Holes.
It's A Bouncing Big Baby Boy
Bouncing off the back of Kangaroo Jack, funny guy Anthony Anderson has inked to produce and star in Little Orphan Anthony. The (hilarious) set-up revolves around a yuppie couple who mistakenly adopt a 25-year-old orphan. Guess which part Anthony plays...
