The surprise hit comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was an unexpected hit for the filmmakers, as you'll find out on this friendly fun DVD.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture As with any respectable US romantic comedy, the colour tones are warm. They transfer to disc with clarity and sharpness.
Sound The 5.1 mix doesn't excel in effects, but instead distributes the music score around the speakers to envelop you in feelgood vibes.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Audio Commentary Director, writer, and star Nia Vardalos says that this film is "about my big fat family". She's joined by John Corbett and Joel Zwick for a friendly, and often humorous, commentary that reflects a shoot that was clearly a lot of fun.
The opening shot of the movie was, in fact, the last scene shot. By that point, most of the cast and crew had been released, so the feeling was of real sadness that their family had disbanded.
Greek School Choose this subtitle option and throughout the movie you'll get facts on all things Greek. Be warned, there are a lot of explanations about the various foods featured in the film. You're liable to be left feeling very hungry.
Guest List Browse this wedding-styled "guest list" and you can read filmographies and watch short interviews about the principal cast and crew. The focus of their comments are often on the characters that they play, although Michael Constantine makes the point that the craziest plot elements are quite real in a typical Greek wedding.
