Party on!, It's "Wayne's World 2" on a DVD that's every bit as excellent as the disc for the first movie. For this review, we plan to spare you the pain of attempting to write in Wayne speak.
Technical Features:
Picture Another top transfer from Paramount. Fresh, vibrant, and clean, the film doesn't seem to have dated at all (apart from the fashion, the music, the lingo, the hair, the cars, the technology...).
Sound A 5.1 mix of loud music, thunder-claps, and amusing effects. It's good!
Special Features:
Audio Commentary Director Stephen Surjik starts off well but soon drys up. What he does share with us is a rather boring analysis of what he was attempting to do with the film.
Making of Documentary This is the follow-up to the retrospective interviews made for the first DVD. It's revealed that within the opening weekend of "Wayne's World", studio executives were suddenly very interested in the project, and even more excited about making a follow-up. Sadly Christopher Walken is not interviewed, but everyone was terrified of working with him, including the director whose teeth were chattering on the first day. Of course the truth of the matter is that everyone realised he was "charming", "gracious", "insightful"... the list goes on!
Animated Menus Just like the first DVD, the layout is of the Aurora Cable station menu, but with fantastic new adverts, and the original trailer to laugh at.
Region: 2
Chapters: 21
Ratio: 1.78:1 (anamorphic)
Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1
Extra Features: Scene selection, animated menus, multiple languages and subtitles, and English captions for the hearing impaired.
This DVD was reviewed on a JVC XV-S57 DVD player.
