"A Force of One" is vintage 70s Chuck Norris action with the requisite minimal plot and maximum roundhouse solutions for wicked crimes. Hardly an essential movie to own, anyone who fancies a slice of this vintage Chuck will be disappointed with the DVD.
The disc will only set you back a tenner, hence the lack of any extra features. That's not a problem when the movie is presented in a reasonable condition. The image quality on this disc is fair but deteriorates horribly during the darker scenes. To be fair to the distributors, this is a horribly lit film and detail was never going to be high, but it should look a touch better than their VHS release.
While excuses can be made for the picture, it's hard to forgive the sound quality. The 2.0 mix is clear enough but about 20 minutes into the movie, a high-pitched whine spoils every tender punch and kick made. After a while you do get used to it, but again the VHS release is superior and that just isn't right.
