Saturday 11 April

Alan "Neddie" Turner was one of the pioneer DJ's on Radio Caroline back in 1964, and broadcast from the M.V. Fredericia as she sailed from the Essex coast to the Isle of Man in July of that year. He joined us on the LV18.

In the 1970's Steve England and Dave Owen worked on both Radio Caroline and Radio Atlantis. They have lots to say about radio both then and now…..

Dave Cash was a pirate radio DJ on Radio London, he met Tony Benn and asked him why he worked for the closure of the pirates. Tony told Dave the then Prime Minister "Harold Wilson rang me and said what are you doing about the pirates, I'm listening to them".

Johnnie Walker speaks about the pirate days ahead of the film "The Boat That Rocked" being screened in cinemas.

Legendary pirate DJs will be broadcasting from a ship at Harwich to coincide with the release of Richard Curtis's film "The Boat That Rocked".
