Salsa lover Chris Penhall has pulled on her dancing shoes and headed to the Salsa Congress in Bournmouth. While she was there she spoke to Essex salsa dancer Pete Watts and asked him why he enjoyed it so much: ![]() Performing on stage - Salsa dancing "I gave salsa a go in Essex because I was really looking to get back into dancing, more ball room dancing, but when I went back to ballroom it was very strict in it's structure - whereas with the salsa you can come along any week. It's a drop in class rather than having a course. "When you come to salsa people come along and dance with a lot of different people rather than being allocated a partner, but I suspect guys are still put off by it and see it as more of a girls thing to be dancing but the salsa is different." Whilst Chris was at the salsa event she spoke to several people about dancing and you can listen to her report by clicking on the link below.
