Red Nose Day 2007

Two people wearing red noses
See how they got on - pledge to RND

The sky's the limit for Red Nose Day

This year the title for RED NOSE DAY is THE BIG ONE, with Big CHALLENGES on the agenda. BBC Essex presenter Tom Warmington and Gary Butcher from the Dave Monk programme take to the skies.

We're always telling BBC Essex's Tom Warmington to keep his feet on the ground but for this year's Red Nose Day challenge BBC Essex did exactly the opposite.

We bundled him into a car and drove off to a hitherto unknown airstrip in Essex, to meet the RAF volunteer air cadets in Wethersfield. Tom had no idea what was in store for him when he met Captain George Capon. However once he'd been through his safety training and put on his parachute the realisation set it... this was a BIG CHALLENGE.

Tom's task to take to the skies in a glider, take control of the aircraft and wait for it do an inverted dive followed by a loop the loop. To say he had a different perspective once on terra firma may have been a understatement.
