She’s spending two weeks on placement at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire. I started my first day of work placement at BBC Coventry and Warwickshire on the CSV Action Desk. The first thing I felt was being really excited about starting a work placement in a radio station where my idol works - he is the lovely Bob Brolly. I had an induction from June on reception then spoke to Duncan (Assistant Editor) and found out what I was doing and finally I went to see Rosie (CSV Action Desk Producer). I then was making phone calls and spoke to Natalie (who’s CSV’s new Community Catalyst, working with young volunteers). Then myself, Rosie and Natalie went to Henley College, where volunteers from the hair and beauty salon were giving women in sheltered accommodation some treats for Mother’s Day. Some people pulled out at the last minute so I had a facial, which was fantastic and felt really relaxed, then I had my hair done - as did Rosie. When I came out of there I felt really good I then went to find Rosie and Natalie - they were having their nails done. When we were finished, Rosie was talking to people to see what they thought, Natalie was doing the same and I was taking pictures. When we left and came back to work, I felt really relaxed and really good after all I'd had done. (Editor’s note: no staff at BBC Coventry and Warwickshire typically spend the day getting their hair and nails done! This was a one-off project as part of CSV’s Community Catalyst Campaign. To find out more, check out the CSV page of our website) Next week, Lynne will realise a dream: to actually work with Bob Brolly on the afternoon show! Listen out for her on the phones from 1-4pm and you can call the show on 0845 900 5 200. last updated: 18/03/2008 at 12:32 SEE ALSOYou are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Local Radio > CSV Action > My week of work experience |
