The Oxford Revue
I Can't Believe It's Not better!
What is your show all about?
Sketches! Songs! Rapping Nuns! It's a fast-paced, "surreally, savagely hilarious" sketch-comedy show, made up of the best material from the three shows the group have performed this year.
Where and when can we see it?
Every day at 5:45pm at the Smirnoff Underbelly Belly Dancer.
Do you love Edinburgh or is it a chore?
We looooovvveeeee Edinburgh! It's an amazing city, and the atmosphere during the festival is fantastic. Plus the weather's fantastic and Scottish people are extremely attractive. Oh aye.
What will you be doing with the other 23 hrs of the day?
Some of us will be performing in Oxford's improvised comedy group, The Oxford Imps, at C venues, the rest of us will be living it up on the royal mile trying to shift 15,000 flyers!
What's the best thing you've ever seen on the fringe?
The night there was a fire scare at The Gilded Balloon/Teviot, and loads of performers decided that neither firescares nor rain would prevent them form doing their thang, so we were all treated to an impromptu showcase of talent while we waited outside for the all clear. Show-wise, Probably Demetri Martin's "if" last year, or H-Bam's "TV Dinner and Dancing!".
What's the worst thing you've seen?
Paul Daniels in a bar, the ultimate mingling of the comic and the tragic.
What's the most curious thing that's happened to you in Edinburgh?
Meeting Glaswegians.
If you could persuade one VIP to come to your show who would it be? Why?
Any Glaswegian, preferably one called ‘Sean’. Because we met one last year called Sean who was lovely, and we've missed him.
If the Edinburgh fairy could grant your wish, what would your wish for?
A Glaswegian named Sean, dressed in a matador outfit, riding a tiny white horse.
What advice do you have for first time Edinburgh punters?
Bring looooooooots of cash. And a camera, in case you meet any Glaswegians. Just enjoy yourselves, it’s only once a year!
