Miles Jupp

What is your show all about?

Well, it's about a load of stuff really. It's a retrospective look at some of our work over the last 25 years. Although in truth it focuses fairly heavily on the last three months.

Where and when can we see it?

It's at the Assembly Rooms at 9pm every night.

Do you love Edinburgh or is it a chore?

We love Edinburgh. We live here all year round.

What will you be doing with the other 23 hrs of the day?

I will regrettably be in Glasgow filming for the benefit of under fives although doing the odd stand players show late at night. Stuart will be doing two other shows at the stand at lunchtime and at half eleven. he'll be a busy boy. Humphrey, when not in the Improverts, just sits around in a towel all day fielding phone calls from ladies and compiling short lists.

What's the best thing you've ever seen on the fringe?

Slaves Of Starbucks. It's genius.

What's the worst thing you've seen?

An indifferent audience staring at me and occasionally glancing at their watches and sighing. Only once or twice mind. If it happened all the time it would be a bit off.

What's the most curious thing that's happened to you in Edinburgh?

A woman once said to me "refusing to allow my 14 year old daughters into your show is like saying that you don't perform for black people. Or people with withered arms". I was as furious as I was surprised and had to be led away.

If you could persuade one VIP to come to your show who would it be? Why?

Michael Atherton. Why? Because he's my hero and I'd love to him to enjoy what I do as much as i enjoyed watching what he did as a batsman. I mean that.

If the Edinburgh fairy could grant your wish, what would your wish for?

We have an Edinburgh fairy in our show. I'd just like him to buy a drink every now and then.

What advice do you have for first time Edinburgh punters?

Ensure that what you're watching is actually meant to be a comedy before laughing uproariously and clapping. And bring money. Stirling preferably, or you'll be turned away.
