Fresh Fruit Flapjacks recipe

Learn how to make tasty fresh fruit flapjacks with this simple recipe, perfect for cooking with kids.

You will need
  • 80g blueberries or other soft fruit
  • 35g wholemeal flour
  • 25g caster sugar
  • 35g oats
  • 25g butter plus extra for greasing the tin

Recipe for fresh fruit flapjacks

Don't forget to wash your hands before you start baking.

1. Pre-heat your oven to 160°C Fan / 180°C / Gas Mark 4.

2. Put the blueberries on a plate and squash them with the back of a fork.

3. Put the oats, flour, sugar, and butter into a bowl.

4. Rub the ingredients together with your fingers until the mixture looks crumbly.

5. Grease a loaf tin with butter.

6. Put half of the crumbly mixture into the tin and press it down firmly.

7. Spread the squashed blueberries evenly over the top.

8. Cover the blueberries with the rest of the crumbly mixture and press it down firmly.

9. Ask a grown-up to put the tin into the oven and bake for about 20 minutes.

10. Ask a grown-up to take the tin out of the oven and allow the flapjacks to cool before eating.

Remember: Always ask a grown-up for help when using the oven.
