Remember that River City won't be in its usual Tuesday night slot this week due to the Scotland vs Spain football match. You can see the next episode at 9pm on Friday 14th October. Watch a clip of what's coming up here.

New Opening, New Characters and New Website!

We have so much to discuss this week! Where to start?? Well how do you like our new swanky website? The darker colour scheme ties in with our new opening titles for the show which I think look pretty darn good. River City has got all sleek! What do you think?

This week also saw the arrival of some new faces. First, we had Doctor Handsome, I mean eh, Dr Dan Hunter who was welcomed to Shieldinch by a traditional Glasgow Kiss from Lenny! Oft, that was some head butt! Hopefully he'll have an easier time of it next week.

Then we had the mysterious blonde sidling up to Lenny at the bar. But wait, haven't we seen her before? Why yes, she was at McCabe's graveside looking very upset and giving Lenny dirty looks. So why by the end of the episode was she in Shieldinch batting her eyelashes at him?! Suspicious!!!! WHO IS SHE?!

Lenny got about a bit this week - it wasn't all head butts and sultry blondes! He spent time trying to convince Amber to let him take the blame for McCabe's death but to no avail. Amber is staying in prison for a long time, not only that, she's transferring to another prison far, far away because fellow inmates "won't let her sleep" - never heard of Nytol darlin?

Lenny then went into meltdown: got ridiculously drunk, got all philosophical at McCabe's grave, smashed up his office, threatened Murray, head butted Dr Handsome, decided to leave town and tried to sell Gabriel his half of the arcade. Phew! Kelly-Marie saw some of this madness and decided that she wouldn't tell Lenny that Bugsy Malone is his grandson. However, it looks like Lenny might be on to her anyway! He spotted her at Ewan's grave and was struck by the similarity between Callum and Ewan, the Mighty Murdoch won't be letting this one go!

Bob and Stella are very sweet aren't they? Things got a bit shaky when Stella started freaking out about their relationship moving too quickly. The idea of dinner with Bob's family had her panicking and winking like a maniac. She needn't of worried though, the Mullens don't need heirs and graces, they were happy with a chippy and some Irn Bru, but aren't we all?

The Brodie famly were being dysfunctional as usual and it was Uncle Gabriel to the rescue! Conor and his stupid mates were bullying Nicole. Leyla despaired and didn't know what to do. If she'd told Michael, he would have stormed in all guns blazing which would have solved nothing. Instead Gabriel solved it calmly and reasonably by talking rather than shouting at the kids. Who knew that Gabe could be so sensible? Ha, in your face Leyla! He ain't as dumb as you thought he was!

River City repeat - now on Saturday 9 October

There's a change in the TV schedules this weekend. Instead of its usual Sunday slot, the River City repeat will be broadcast on Saturday 9th October at 1510 on BBC Two Scotland. As ever you can watch the chronicles of life in Shieldinch on the iPlayer.

Tuesday's usual episode hits our screens on Thursday 8 July. Tune in at 21:00 to watch the latest episode.
This will be repeated on Sunday 11 July, on BBC Two Scotland at 12:30.

It's Tuesday - time for your weekly fix of all things Shieldinch, However, don't forget that the latest episode has been moved to Wednesday 30 June at 21:00.

Missing the show? The good ol' iPlayer will keep you in the loop with Eileen's secret and Theresa's reign of terror.

River City on the move...

Have you noticed a small thing which keeps making your favourite TV shows vanish off the face of the earth or appear at odd times? Yes, it's the once-every-four-years footie fest that is the World Cup, and it's having an effect on River City for the next few weeks.

So, instead of your usual Tuesday night eight o'clock catch-up, River City's moved to Friday 25 June, where you can catch the non-football related action at 2000 on BBC One Scotland.

After that River City's pushed back in the schedules once again, from its Tuesday 29 June slot to Wednesday 30 June, where it will be on BBC One Scotland at 2100.

Finally, it looks like River City will be moved from Tuesday 6 July to Thursday 8 July, where it will be on BBC One Scotland at 2100.

Thankfully, for the 2010 World Cup we now have the BBC iPlayer so there's no need to miss the latest news from Shieldinch. If there are any shifts in the TV schedules, as events may change, we'll keep you up-to-date here on the blog.

Well, those of you glued to the screen waiting for the latest news from Shieldinch way, would've got a shock tonight - No River City.
Due to the breaking news, River City has been moved in the TV schedules.
