On Sunday Now Playing does a long overdue tweet-in, this time with everyone’s favourite post-punk howling superstar Frank Turner. The much-requested station favourite and 6 Music Festival artist takes control of BBC 6 Music for two hours to play the music he loves - with help from you, of course!

Not only will you help to choose Frank’s playlist, the man himself will spontaneously perform a few songs – subject to the BBC’s rigorous compliance policies – throughout the show accompanied by what we’re told is his favourite guitar.

This week (Sunday, 24 May 6-8pm) BBC 6 Music celebrates the return of Belfast’s eternal teenage wildlifers Ash and hands control of Now Playing to singer Tim Wheeler.

Ahead of the band’s long-awaited return with new album ‘Kablammo!’ – released on Monday 25 May - the impossibly nice Tim takes over Now Playing on Sunday, with two hours of Ash-related tunes selected by you, dear listener.

‘Kablammo!’ is Ash’s first album since 2007’s ‘Twilight of the Innocents’ and marks a triumphant return to form with lashings of distortion, driving drums and Tim’s unmistakable vocal melodies. It is, as the critics are saying, a magnificent return to form.

Tim will be LIVE on Twitter as our latest tweet-in guest with Nemone – sitting in for Tom Robinson - sifting through your song suggestions sent via the hashtag #Ash6Music. They’ll be selecting and directly commenting on tracks suggested by YOU using the hashtag #Haim6Music, as well as those sent in via Facebook and other platforms (see the bottom of page for the different ways to get your suggestions into the show).

And who better to host this special tweet in, than a group who have been specifically recognised for their Twitter skills. At last month’s NME Awards not only were the trio awarded Best International Band, but guitarist and singer Alana Haim scooped the Best Blog or Twitter Award for her @babyhaim feed… for the second year running.

Meanwhile, as well as curating Now Playing’s first ever all-female playlist, Haim host our inaugural ‘relay tweet in’. From 6.30pm each band member will take it in turns to curate 30 minutes of the music - all inspired by the YOUR suggestions. The first 30 minutes of the show will be a mix of the trio’s own personal favourite tracks by fellow female musicians.

Since topping the BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll, sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim have become one of the hottest new music acts, performing at Glastonbury and signing to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label, as well as picking up a clutch of awards along the way.

The group’s special tweet in is ahead of the release of their latest single ‘If I Could Change Your Mind’, from their debut album ‘Days Are Gone’.

So what tracks do you reckon Haim should pick for our inaugural all-female playlist as we extend Saturday’s International Women’s Day celebrations?

What about music from icons such as Debbie Harry, Patti Smith, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Bjork or PJ Harvey?

"It was just over two years ago since I took the good ship BBC 6 Music for a sail around the choppy waters of Twitter.

It was a fun and frantic night as far as I remember. The Fall, Factory Floor and Nancy Sinatra all featured - with Nancy herself tweeting in to say thanks.

The last two years have been enjoyable in terms of the records I've recorded, ones we've released on our label, O Genesis, and ones I've bought feeding my vinyl addiction.

Last year saw some fantastic releases from the likes of Body / Head, Kim Gordon's umpteenth exciting adventure - a record made even more enjoyable as I bought it in Pie & Vinyl in Southsea.
So what am I listening to at the moment that you could pick for my playlist on the show?

Peaking Lights are current favourites, as are Grumbling Fur. I got to see Bill Callahan live a couple of days ago which blew me away - I'm not sure I go more than 48 hours without hearing Bill's voice via Smog or any of his solo albums. I'm still going back to last year's Prefab Sprout album - their best since Steve McQueen. At this very second I'm listening to a song by Dub Sex, before that it was Seahawks. I'm not sure where I heard it but Katy Perry's latest song is stuck on repeat somewhere in my head too.

We've released some great records on O Genesis. I always think if I'm asked about my favourite music and I mention my label, people might think, 'there he goes, trying to flog some records'. But it really is my favourite music, kind of why we put it out in the first place (or is it a double bluff to try to flog some records?). In any case there's the shoegaze headshake of Slowgun, the punky pushing things over of Throwing Up and the louche smoking jacket cool of Hatcham Social - I got to play gigs with all of them too so they were the soundtrack of some amazing times.

I got to work with someone I've admired for a long time, Love of Life Orchestra head honcho, Peter Gordon. From a recommendation from a guy in a record shop to a quickly developed obsession - a chance meeting, a vague plan and a resultant single. Like a perfect trajectory. I'd written the song with Kurt Wagner - he and I had recorded an album at Beech House in Nashville, I was there a few weeks so got to hear what was happening there - my friend was working with Laura Cantrell who's from there, her new album is great too. We ended up singing a new order cover when she played at The Union Chapel.

Yeah, so country, pop, shoegaze, punk and techno have been what I've listened to so far today."

Thanks for that Tim! Some great music to get you thinking… and of course there's music from The Charlatans or his side projects with The Chemical Brothers, Saint Etienne and more, that you could pick.

Send in your song suggestions via the ways mentioned above, now and during Sunday's live show, for what promises to be a very special playlist.

We've given you Part I of who some of our favourite bloggers think are going to be big in 2013 - and here are the rest. But what we really want to know is who do you think is going to make a massive impact on music in the next 12-months. Let us know by leaving a comment on this blog or Tweet #6Music2013.

The Asphodells (Beats and Beyond)
The new album from The Asphodells is perhaps Andrew Weatherall's most accessible work to date, which is not to say it's lacking in depth, more that's its imbued with an instantaneous appeal that shows just how much fun was had in its making. Along with Timothy J. Fairplay in this project it's one to watch for sure.

George Ezra (My Band is Better Than Your Band)
At just 19-years old the Bristol-based singer has already toured with Lianne La Havas and been signed to Columbia. His voice sounds like he's been smoking 40 a day for the last 50 years, full of soul it's just utterly beautiful.

High Highs (The 405)
It feels like High Highs have been around forever. Their self titled EP dropped back in November 2011 and has been part of our staple diet ever since. It plays like a less morose xx but with a greater sense of dynamics, so we are understandably excited for their debut album Open Season, which is released on January 25 - and we can safely say that you are in for a real treat.

Willy Moon (Some Kind of Awesome) With only a handful of songs to his name, Willy Moon is gaining a lot of interest from a lot of different people. If Jack White's a fan you know he's got to be doing something right! His highly infectious single Yeah Yeah has been unavoidable, so here's to hoping his follow up tracks are going to be just as dance worthy.

John Wean (Love Music Love Life) The Glasgow 'indie-pop-rock' four-piece have gained our attention through outstanding festival appearances and an infectious EP in 2012. Blending their catchy sounds, taking influence from Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats, the band will release their debut album this year. If their previous tracks are anything to go by, we can guarantee it will be worth a listen.

Haim (Pigeons & Planes) Haim has an unfair advantage: they're three sisters who look like they'd fit perfectly into an Urban Outfitters catalog. Haim succeed because they aren't just three cool-looking sisters--they're three cool-looking sisters who care deeply about music and do it well. Just look at their faces when they play. It's hard to say whether or not a sense of music is genetic, but Haim provides a good piece of evidence that it is.

Tiny Fingers (Cougar Microbes) Tiny Fingers instrumental live set MEGAFAUNA - released at the end of 2012 - fused elements of post-rock, live electronica, dubstep and psychedelia into an explosive mixture. Having already made waves in their native Israel with radio appearances and numerous live shows the four-piece were also hand selected for support dates for The Mars Volta.

Gerard and the Watchmen (For Folk's Sake) Harmony-drenched folky trio Gerard and the Watchmen are fast gathering fans and critical plaudits. Check out their debut album I Climbed A Tree and catch them on their February UK tour.

Nautic (Dummy) At Dummy we're really excited about what oddball soul-funk outfit Nautic are going to come up with this year. They're the sort-of supergroup founded by producer Bullion and singer/musicians Laura Groves and Tic, and have an ever-expanding group of musicians joining them on record and for live. Their debut single Fresh Eyes, released at the end of 2012 on Bullion's new label DEEK, was a saxophone-led jam that lifted the soul - and we're hungry for more.

Anna Meredith (CMU) Already known as a classical composer and pundit, Anna Meredith has another life as an electronic music producer. In recent months she's been getting more attention in this guise too, particularly since the release of her debut EP, Black Prince Fury. Its lead track, Nautilus, is a bold and enthralling track and one of the tracks that got me most excited in 2012 and I can't wait to hear more in 2013.

Once again we've asked some of our favourite bloggers to pick artists who they think are going to be huge in 2013 - here's Part I. But do you agree? But with the recording of their debut album now done and dusted, and a live show that goes from strength to strength, 2013 should be a huge year.

Coves (The Von Pip Musical Express)
2012 has been a fabulous year for new music and whilst Leamington Spa may not be the UK's answer to Brooklyn it has produced one of the most exciting bands of the year in the shape of Coves. The band consist of multi instrumentalist John Ritgard and singer Rebekah Woods, and they look set to put Leamington Spa firmly on the musical map in 2013. In 2012, they released a quite wonderful Cast a Shadow EP, which mixed garage rock with ghostly 'wall of sound' reverb replete with Beck's sublime and dreamily seductive vocals to produce the perfect musical storm.

Arcade Fire (4Clubbers)
For me it's going to be Arcade Fire. For one their last album was amazing, and for two, James Murphy's likely to be on board, and considering what he did on the latest Pulp track (ok, a rework of an old one from We Love Life era) then it sounds like a match made in heaven.

Jetta (Alfitude)
Chances are that you will hear the most about Jetta in the coming months. Wowing festival audiences and producing brilliant free film-inspired mixtapes last year, the band look set to capitalise on their hype with a debut album coming out in 2013 on Virgin Records.

Chvrches (Breaking More Waves)
They've already been lighting up the blogosphere and have made the BBC Sound of 2013 list as well as the Blog Sound of 2013 list, so it seems that I'm not the only one that loves Chvrches. In a year when certain sectors of the media are predicting the rise of the guitar band, this Scottish electronic trio are the perfect antidote. The formula is simply good tunes and Chvrches bang them out big time.

Straw Bear (A New Band A Day)
They've been around for a while, but have been really under the radar, and are now picking up a lot of steam for 2013. I'm also rather looking forward to Factory Floor debut album, I quite like Twigs and I think Chvrches could be something special, given the chance to develop.

Syron (Radio ClubFoot)
There's a certain French duo who dress up as robots who we are hoping beyond desperation make a return in 2013, but one artist who is certain to make a huge impact is Syron.
In a scene full of big personalities, DJ Yoda is one of the biggest. Hip hop DJ and turntablist extraordinaire, Yoda has been chopping, screwing, cutting and gluing since the nineties, creating sonic odysseys unlike anything else. This Sunday he takes over Now Playing @6Music for a unique two hours of radio...but he needs your help.

Yoda has picked six songs to kick the show off, but after that it's up to you to turn selector and rifle through the virtual crates, offering track suggestions that you'd like him to play out. Need some inspiration? Here's what the man himself had to say about his tastes and dispositions:

"The music I grew up on was definitely hip-hop and pop. There was a lot of sampling and scratching going on in this period of music, so I guess that's what inspired me to start DJing. Throughout the 90s I pretty much listened to nothing but rap music, but around 2000 (when hip-hop started a bad period for me) I started listening to, and playing out, more clubbier stuff. Not really so much house music; more like jungle, dancehall, whatever. I think in the last few years hip-hop has got really good again. People like Action Bronson, who is on my album, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West is always inspiring."

If that doesn't get your mind whirring, how about these?

* Other legendary turntablists, like Beat Junkies, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush or Kid Koala

* Acts who have appeared on DJ Yoda's releases, like The Pharcyde, Kid Creole or Scoobius Pip

* Artists sampled by DJ Yoda, such as Billie Holiday, George Formby, Hall & Oates, and far too many more to mention

* New hip hop acts that you think are the future of the genre, like Azealia Banks, ASAP Rocky and Angel Haze.

When it comes down to it though, the playlist is yours - and DJ Yoda's - hands, so let us know what you think he should play. Leave your suggestions below, post them on our Facebook Page, tweet them to us and Yoda using #yoda6music, email us or add suggestions to our collaborative Spotify playlist. And remenber, if you're a DJ Yoda fan tune in 1800 GMT on Sunday.
