Hiya - a little update for you regarding Spider Ham yesterday...

Overnight, Laura (the show's director), decided to feed Spider Ham some Frankfurter sausage. It went down fairly well. He wrapped it up and put it in a corner for later.

Yesterday, a lady called Chappy called in and told us that she feeds cat biscuits to a slug that comes in her backdoor every night.

She has sent in a picture:

Producer Laura has been looking after a small spider in her garden by feeding it ham. Is this a good idea? I'm concerned that it's interrupting the food chain:

Gary is 20, works for lots of shows on Radio 1 and we love and care for him. So much so that we organised a survival hamper for his trip to Reading and Leeds this weekend...

It included:

- Sticky fingers wetwipes

- Breathe freshener

- Africa deodorant

- Moist toilet tissue

- 18x flavoured condoms

- Squirty cream

- A banana

Here he is:

Living The Dream...

There seems to be an increase lately in people having weird dreams. Ages ago I had a dream about Carol Vorderman and her 'Football Academy' (which sadly doesn't exist), and Fearne recently told me a dream she had about going down a waterslide fully clothed...

As always, it's dangerous to tell me things like this because we made her live that dream...

Warning. This video is a bit odd. But you've come to expect that now I imagine...

Friday was a very good day. As you will know, if you listen to the show regularly, I am a huge fan of Midsomer Murders. Traditionally, yes, OK it is for an older audience. However, I know for a FACT that millions of people under 30 love this. To prove me right please leave your message of support and age below.

In any case - don't judge it until you've tried it.

I went down to one of the filming days last week and it was a pure delight.

The story of getting the tickets is particularly good. Ally, who listens to the show regularly was at a charity auction, bid for the chance to spend the day at Midsomer Murders, won it, emailed me and asked me if I wanted to go with her, I checked she wasn't a Midsomer murderer herself and it happened.

We turned up here:

It's a secret location in Surrey. And yes, it IS someones house. Well, mansion. I met the lovely owners who have rented out their 2000 acres of land to many big films to use too.

Of course, being a loser, I had to do this:
I met the cast who were brilliant and actually pleasantly surprised that their show does have such a young following. 6 million viewers can't be wrong.
The cast in action:
DCI Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) and DS Ben Jones (Jason Hughes)

You'll be pleased to know that there are some official photos on the way too. So I'll bore you with them asap.
The cast and I agreed a job swap as they fancied being a Radio 1 DJ and I fancied being in Midsomer Murders. Fine by me.

Not sure why I did this...

I absolutely think that electric/eco-friendly cars are an incredible thing for the world and our environment. Having said that, I do think that the drivers of these cars must take HUGE pleasure in moments like this:

2 cars. 1 space.

Also, if they don't know each other - good luck getting that out of there.

The GREATEST idea...

Chris Smith with the news came up with an incredible idea yesterday to build on our love of Swede Mason's 'Buttery Biscuit Base' song from Masterchef. Greg Wallace is of course the main star of the song...If you've not seen it - it's here.

The idea is to get this man:

...to perform the song LIVE on Radio 1 with us.

What a dream. The wheels are in motion - watch this space.
