It was a wonderful night on Tuesday. I think moving it to the new venue of the o2 Arena really made a difference. It seemed like a much more intimate show - crowd seemed really involved and close to the action unlike previous years.
I was on a fancy table next to Bieber's - I was within striking distance.
You can spot me in the background of this shot:
Well, obviously you can because I've drawn a handy red arrow.

Great night, so pleased Mumford and Sons won best album, there were some incredible live performances and I thought James Corden did an excellent job as host.
I have some show news for you. Regular listeners will be aware of Producer Neil. He has been working with me since I first started at Radio 1 and was the guy who first championed me at this place and recommended I did a trial show. So really, it's his fault I'm here. Blame him. We did two years of getting up at joke o'clock for Early Breakfast and then came on to the afternoons with me last year. We've been through thick and thin together!
He has gone and got himself a new job elsewhere in the BBC for a bit so I'd like to publicly thank him for everything he's done for me over the last three and a bit years. I'll be forever indebted to him - he knows this and will use it against me one day.
Here we are - one of my favourite memories of doing the show together in Magluf a few years ago.
I saw this huge cake with a sign on it that says 'Don't touch'. My immediate reaction was to put my fist straight through it. Tempting huh?

I touched it at the bottom.
Had a lovely evening last night at my sister's place hanging out with my niece and nephew. I am well versed in the stories of 'Topsy and Tim' now and visited my niece's 'shop' she has set up in her bedroom. I bought 3 plastic apples with plastic coins. They cost 20p each. A bargain.
Then watched my BBC Three documentary on 'youth unemployment' with my sister, she was bragging that she was 'hosting the premiere' of the show. And all the stars were attending. Well, I was there having a stir-fry. Really pleased with how it turned out and the reaction from you lot has been brilliant so thank you very much.
If you want to comment on it or watch it again, have a look here.
In the summer, I filmed a documentary for BBC Three about how difficult it is for young people to find a job at the moment. It's something that is affecting so many people, even some of my mates who left Uni a few years ago still haven't found anything full-time.
I travelled up and down the country finding out more about these people and what they're doing to conquer the problem. Don't worry, it's not entirely depressing - if you're in a similar situation, you'll relate to some of the people involved, and gain hope from some of their achievements.
It's on BBC Three tonight at 9pm. I hope you like it... Give it a watch eh?
P.S. This isn't me below:
P.P.S This is yet another wonderful image from the BBC photo library (from the 90s)

I've just been down to the BBC Introducing Musician's Masterclass at Abbey Road Studios...I didn't realise quite how big the event actually is. It is a stunning setup.
Even if you're not familiar with The Beatles, everyone's heard OF them at least and to be stood in the same room where they recorded their hits is pretty awe-inspiring. I found one of their pianos lying around next to the bins:

BBC Introducing isn't just about finding 'the next Florence and the Machine' - there's an element of that of course but it's as much about that as finding the next big producer, the next big songwriter, drummer or guitarist etc.
There are loads of workshops going on today with music industry bigwigs and hundreds of budding musicians soaking it all up too.
Mark Ronson is down there, Kaiser Chiefs, Tynchy Stryder, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Steve Lamacq, Mista Jam from BBC Radio 1Xtra - all to impart their wisdom.
Here is a pretty terrible photo of Steve Lamacq and Kaiser Chiefs 'having a chat'...

I had a chat with a some of the lovely people down there and you'll hear that on the show this afternoon...
If you're a budding musician, or know someone who is, forward this blog to them and get them to start watching - it's going to be a fascinating day.
