Which male popstar does this lady get mistaken for?

I was having a little bit of dinner with Radio 1's Huw Stephens the other night and we got chatting to the waitress about music. I'm not sure how it came about but she mentioned to us that she often gets told she looks like a lead singer of a pretty famous band.

Have a little guess below if you wouldn't mind:

Finally got a chance to go and see the band 'Fenech-Soler' last night and I'm flipping pleased that I did.

I have been harping on about their album for a few months now. A lovely slice of electro/dance/indie/pop, but that description doesn't really do them justice. Have a look here for a more insightful...er...insight (don't worry, I've finally worked out how to make the links open in a new window. I know, I'm practiaclly Bill Gates.

The gig last night was superb. Musically they are very strong, they sound like a band who have been working well together for a while and the sound the create is big. Very big. Ben, as a frontman is brilliantly enthusiastic. As our very own Tulip Mazumdar has said of him before - 'he's like a shaken bottle of fizzy pop'.

They have all the components that make a great band and I'm sure they'll only get bigger and bigger this year as they embark on a sizable UK tour later this month. I would recommend you pop along to see them if you have heard a bit of them and like it. A highlight for me, apart from the singles we've played on Radio 1, was a track called 'Golden Sun'.

I would like to make one small complaint though. The venue was very dark and their set was lit with minimal lighting. Apart from the brightest rack of lights I think I've ever seen. Imagine you are in the dark and all of a, suddenyou realise that a car has crept up on you and it suddenly puts its full beams on in your face. That's what it was like. I don't know about anyone else in the crowd but I was cowering away from the beacons! My eyes started watering. Ended up dancing around with my eyes shut for a bit. What a grandad. Great night though.

Here are the lights:

Getting up earlier...

I don't know if it's me getting a bit older, but I love getting up early during the week these days. I get all my emailing and boring stuff done in the early hours and I even get chance to go running, listen to more of Moyles and even managed to catch Charlie Brooker's interview on BBC Breakfast. Anyway, don't know why I bored you with that.

I popped to get a couple of DVDs last night and on my travels I saw this:

I talked about this BBC period drama that I was a big fan of called 'Fanny Hill' a couple of years ago on Early Breakfast and I had no idea it had been realeased on DVD. Excellent news! Didn't buy it though - £16 is a bit steep.

Off to see Fenech Soler tonight - I think. I'm not sure if I got the dates wrong. Idiot. I'll let you know.

In other news, look at this incredible prank sent in by Henry Totterdell from Loughborough Uni:

Quite a few cups.

Le Weekend...

A lovely weekend - had a little 'lads evening' (not very laddy really) on Friday. I tried the rival curry place next door to the one that is next to my flat. I sneaked round the corner to avoid walking past them. Awkward. It was loads better by the way. We spent the rest of the evening watching a load of brilliant comedy accompanied by a bottle of horrible vodka from the naff corner shop. You know it's naff because everything is covered in a thin film of dust.

Saturday was a day of training - a killer gym session followed by a trip to the Imperial War Museum. Incredible place that is - if you're ever in London, I recommend you go to it. It's free entry too!

Little bit of shopping yesterday in glorious Cambridge to add to my winter 2011 collection and then lunch with my mum and dad after that. I paid. It rounded off a very relaxing weekend. Ready for the week. Well, I was until I woke up and saw this:

Remember when the mayor of Leicester's trousers fell down? Well, here's another similar incident:

On my regular tour of the building for my 'Feet Up Friday' audience, we stop off at Newbeat and show them what goes on there...

This week, we were confronted by this:

It's Newsbeat's Jonathan Blake. But I'm not sure why it exists.

Any ideas?

I recieved a call from a lady called Lisa yesterday who played a terrible/brilliant prank on her sweet little daughter Olivia.

FInd out on today's show what made Olivia's face go from pure delight:

Here's a thought:

Is it me or is Peep Show as funny as it was when it first began? Very rarely does a comedy remain consistently good after a few series. It's now on Series 7 and I am still obsessed with it. The 'dog incident' in Series 6 has become one of my favourite TV moments of recent years.

Also, 'Super Hans' may well be one of the great Sitcom characters of all time. 'Easy like a Sonntag Morgen'

Good morning lovely people. Here's a thought. I'd like to create a virtual time capsule to put in all your thoughts for the coming year. We'll close it up, bury it in the Blue Peter garden (probably won't bother doing that) and then 'dig it up' at the end of the year and see how accurate you all are.

I'd like your predictions on a few things:

1) What will the Beckhams call their baby?

2) Who will win Wimbledon?

3) Who will win the Premier League?

4) What will be the biggest selling album of 2011?

5) Where will Radio 1's Big Weekend be?

6) Who will headline Glastonbury?

7) Who will perform at the Royal wedding?

8) What film will win Best Picture at the Oscars?

9) Will Jordan get married again this year? Who to?

10) How many number 1s will Matt Cardle have?

Wildcard predictions:

2010 will be remembered for Justin Beiber, Glee, BP Oil disaster, the World Cup, iPads, the coalition government, a volcano and the Chilean miners.

- What do you think 2011 will be remembered by?

Forgotten everything...

So then, off for a couple of weeks and I've forgotten what to do. It's taken me about 2 hours to try and remember my BBC password. And no, clever clogs on Twitter, it wasn't 'P@55word'. Far too clever for me.

Well hello lovely people, it's great to be back. Had a really brilliant Christmas break, and then flew away to the sunshine for a bit. Came back, it's 3 degrees and cloudy but on the plus side, England won the Ashes and my mum and dad came over and cleaned my flat. They are the best.

Please fill me in on stuff - I feel out of the loop. What have I missed? Please let me know below...

Back on in a bit - join me from 1pm?

Yours sincerely,

Greg James
