After I launched a quest yesterday to get Elmo from Sesame Street on today's show...

It flippin' happened:

Oh, and P.S. Just bumped into Dr Karl from Neighbours in the lift. He's on Dev's show tomorrow morning:

Producer Neil really pulled it out the bag today with his special surprise guest...

It was Katy Perry. I had literally no idea it was happening. It happened. And it got awkward:

My reaction to the surprise guest. Bear in mind that I was expecting the Chuckle Brothers...

Katy Perry and Russell Brand...

OK. Odd day so far. It started with me perving over the new Katy Perry video:

It's pretty, pretttty good. Poor old Snoop Dogg doesn't know where to look.

After talking about it on air, about 30 minutes later, after his interview with Annie Mac, Russell Brand popped in to my show to meet my Friday audience.

I introduced myself to him (I'm a fanboy) and he said "I know who YOU are". Now, I don't think he meant that he listens to the show. I think I've been busted as a perv by Katy Perry's husband to be. Good work.

This is Newsbeat's sports reporter, David Garrido, working hard out in South Africa reporting on The World Cup.

Make your own minds up. Got his guns out hasn't he...

No. Holding up the roof.

This is what happened on a slightly odd Sunday afternoon at Southampton University last weekend. I was djing at a very chilled out post-exam end of term gathering and there was an inflatable dance area. The generator ran out of petrol so the tent deflated just before my set.

These helpful people held it up whilst someone ran to the garage to get more fuel. An eventful day.

This is very cool. Our friends at BBC Radio 5Live have come up with a mad idea to get as many people as possible to do a load of Mexican Waves...

Have a look:

While in York the other day, I took a couple of nice pictures of the little streets. Why not? It is a pretty place.

When I took this one, I was horrified to find that I had inadvertantly taken a picture of a man's big belly. A pink belly.

The other onlookers have been disguised to protect their innocence, although it has been done in the most subtle way possible so you might not even realise I've done it.

Glorious.

...actually they're not. Made you look though.

This is excellent news though, have a look at this from our friends at BBC Radio 1Xtra...

Congratulations to all involved in the 82 song megamix which will now go down as a proper official world record. Great news.

Not to be outdone, I thought I'd have a go at a world record of my own.

See if I did it:

Two big names appeared at Radio 1 today. I danced with one of them and chatted to the other:

Firstly, Usher:

This guy called up yesterday to let me know that he wears a very practical belt on a night out. Some people listening didn't believe him. He's emailed me this morning with some proof.

This is John. And his charger.

Thank you to John for clearing up this matter.
