London can be a filthy place. Especially before the street cleaners have had a little sweep up.

Here are a couple of things I spotted this morning:

Firstly, well, I'm not quite sure what this is. Any ideas?

And then Producer Neil almost stepped in this:

Don't worry, it's a piece of Chicken Tikka, and not a dog turd.

I need a haircut...

It was suggested this morning by my show team (Producer Neil) that I have returned from my holidays resembling 70s tennis icon Bjorn Borg. What do you think?

Here's Bjorn:

And here's me:

At 9:30 this morning, these locks will be no more. Buzz cut.

Loose ends...

Bit of a weird week this one. A low after the Summer Jobs Tour and covering Scott's show - it's always like that after something big. Have a look at these photos if you are interested by the way. You may not have seen them...

Had a good meeting regarding the new show the other day - I have a million new ideas and it's all very exciting. Can't wait to get going.

Just packing up at the moment to go on holiday. Off to see the entire family in France which I have been looking forward to for ages. Trying to pack now as the flight is at 2pm but would rather do anything else - hence this blog!

Also, annoyed that I'm away during the last test match at The Oval - idiot. Hopefully England can win the Ashes. I predict Jonathan Trott will come in for Bopara. (only cricket fans will care about this paragraph).

If you're a regular listener, it will be Twin B in for me from Monday and I'll be back on earlies so please welcome him along.

Have a great week and thank you as always for reading this mess. It was inundated during the Summer Jobs Tour with tens of thousands of hits according to the official blog police. Thanks for all your comments too - that's all for now.

Mark Beaumont was on this morning telling us about his recent issues on his massive bike ride across The Americas. He's done nearly 3000miles now on his own and is about to cross into Mexico.

This morning on the big show I hacked into the digital text system and managed to send a message out asking people to take a photo if they could see the hidden message...

Lo and behold... thanks to Mark and Mike for sending these in...

...a plane landing in the rain. During the football highlights, some fool presses the wrong button and plays footage of a plane coming into land.

I found this during the show this morning and I thought it was great. Enjoy.

I think it's the wipers that get me.

New Coldplay video...

Oi, oi etc... My record of the week this week is Coldplay's Strawberry Swing. It has a stunning video. Have a look:

It's made by the same people who did Blur's Coffee and TV with the milk carton. That is my favourite video ever made. That and Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly. (Search for them on You Tube) This comes close.

WARNING: The following entry may not make any sense.

Hello there. I have made it back to London in one piece after the mighty Summer Jobs Tour of the last fortnight. I LOVED going up and down the UK and broadcasting from weird places but it's so nice to be home.

Feel on a bit of a low, a bit like you get the day after a great holiday. I'm feeling particularly lost because I haven't had a chance to think about my Lanzarote holiday I came off a couple of weeks ago. It was so goooood. Pretty naff, but so fun. Put the photos on my computer. Most of them not broadcastable, but here's one: This is where we stayed.

And here's my mate Jack's shoes under a UV light in a club. Classy joint eh?

I'm feeling a little delirious also and although I celebrated massively about the news on my new show, it hasn't really sunk in because the news broke when I was out of the country. Exciting times though and work has already begun in my head regarding new things. Thank you if you emailed or messaged me when you found out by the way - am massively behind on emails and it's doing my head in a bit. But I have read them all and appreciate it a lot. My head is spinning to be honest.

Am sitting on my bed in my pants in a load of clutter. Still haven't unpacked from my holiday or the tour and the bin is overflowing. How much does a live in maid cost? A hot one?

Just looked at my hi-fi and realised that my sunglasses case in between the speakers looks like a face:

Anyway - where was I? So, managed to buy some basic supplies as the cupboards were bare when I got home (obviously). Milk, butter, cereal, bananas and biscuits. Tonight I was supposed to ring and text a few people (sorry if you're reading this and that's you - I'll do it tomorrow). Instead, I have been eating cheese and watching the DVD extras of Series 2 of The Inbetweeners. Great show - DVD extras not the best. Brilliant news that they are making a 3rd series though. I've just been playing the drums a bit too instead of putting a wash on and read a very good interview with Kasabian. There's also been a fly in my flat since last night. I tried squashing him with a full roll of toilet paper but it was too cushioned and he flew away.

I was also supposed to come up with the next batch of my alphabetical Wonder Years for Friday's show and haven't. If you want to choose some, feel free below. I'm doing M to Z this Friday. Artists beginning with those letters.

I think that's all for now. Bedtime. See ya.
