E20 Producer Deborah Sathe wins Creative Innovation Award

A big congratulations to Deborah Sathe, Producer of E20, who has won the Creative Innovation Award for her work on E20 at the Women in TV & Film Awards.

Debs has produced all three series of E20, which also won a Webby Award in 2011. She's a monumental talent and well deserving of her shiny new gong. Hooray!

There's a new firecracker in town

Both Fatboy and Grace are in for a shock in a couple of weeks as Mercy's sister, Faith, unexpectedly arrives in Walford with a message from her sister.

Grace had sent Faith back to Nigeria to get back on the straight and narrow, but as you will see, she's anything but! Her arrival is set to send shockwaves through Walford.

Faith can be an incredible amount of fun, she has a cheekiness that charms most people. But she's not nearly as bright as she thinks she is and can sometimes be reckless and downright dangerous. Her actions have some major repercussions and severely damage her relationship with her grandmother Grace.

But before long she runs into Donnie and Ava, and together the unlikely trio set about making their presence in Walford known, in spin off EastEnders: E20.

E20 series 3: First behind-the-scenes pics

Good news for fans of EastEnders' award-winning spin-off E20. Filming of series 3, in which newcomers Faith, Donnie and Ava crash into the world of Walford, has recently wrapped - and we couldn't resist celebrating with a selection of exclusive behind-the-scenes snaps and an introductory video.

Market forces

Samuell Benta and Modupe Adeyeye strike a pose in Bridge Street, as Donnie and Faith prepare to shake up Walford.

Hostel environment

They say there's no place like home... and this is certainly no place like home! As Sophie Colquhon (Ava) watches the crew set up a scene, it looks like the make-up team have been working overtime on those fake cuts and bruises. Donnie looked a bit dented too.

Miss fit?

Fatboy appears to have the edge in the fashion stakes as Modupe and Ricky rehearse a scene. But that's 'cos we haven't revealed her amazing shoes! Trust us, Faith really knows how to accessorize...

Family fued?

You can tell by the body language that Faith and gran Grace are set to clash. Ellen Thomas is one of several familiar faces to cross over into E20 this series.

Sweeping changes

Sophie and Samuell brush up on their dialogue. Rumours of a big-budget Quidditch sequence in Series 3 may prove to be a little premature, however...

Dancing on the street

Although there won't be the same kind of movin' and a groovin' as we saw in series 2, Samuell's keen to show Ricky his moves. Looks 'Flawless' to us...

E20 wins Webby award

We're thrilled to announce that EastEnders: E20 has won a prestigious award! The online drama, which premiered on the EastEnders website in January 2010, has triumphed at the 15th Annual Webby Awards, seeing off stiff competition to take the top spot in the Drama section of the Online Film & Video category.

Introducing the world of Walford to such popular characters as Fatboy, Mercy and Zsa Zsa, E20 is a hotbed of young talent, where new writers, actors and crew are all given the opportunity to cut their teeth on this groundbreaking show.

The online episodes were supported by a huge selection of extra video and interactive content - from interviews to bonus scenes and social media. Viewers even had the chance to get involved by sending in original tracks and remixes of the iconic EastEnders theme for use in the series.

"E20 was created to champion new voices and new talent in a new format; and in so doing take EastEnders into the web-based world," John Yorke, Controller, BBC Drama Production and New Talent and Executive Producer of E20 told us upon hearing the news.

"To win such a prestigious award is a huge honour for all the team - and proof that the EastEnders brand is as brave and innovatory as it was when it first started, a quarter of a century ago."

If you've not heard of the Webb Awards, they're considered to be the top honour in the web world. The awards will be handed out in a ceremony due to take place in New York in June.

E20 will return for a third series later this year. In the meantime, Series 1 and 2 are still available to watch online at the E20 website.

The nominees for the 15th Annual Webby Awards have been announced, celebrating the best the web has to offer, and guess what? E20 is one of them!

The EastEnders spin-off is one of five to be nominated in the Drama section of the Online Film & Video category. It celebrates original, narrative film and video, made for and premiering online.

E20 is written by 15 young Londoners and gives new talent a voice. Its training ethos doesn't stop there though, as actors, directors, and crew are all given the opportunity to cut their teeth on this groundbreaking show.

And you can check out all the nominees and info on how to vote in the People's Voice category through the Webby Awards website.

Oh. Yes. There's no stopping E20 now... get ready for series 3 coming later in the year.

Sob! E20 series 2 is all over. Well, it went out with a bang….

Fatboy, Sol and Asher danced with Flawless and Avant Garde, whilst DJ Ace appeared on the decks. Fatboy tweeted "With @Ace_1x . Me and him are gonna be bredrins I can tell". Maybe R&R should book them for Friday nights?

Olly looked fetching in Stevie's ball gown. He tweeted, "I'm never coming back to Walford. Ever again". Good! After the way you treated poor Stevie. But as she pointed out, "Happy endings... Awwwwwwww". We love a good happy ending. Bye chaps and chapettes!

OH. MY. GOSH. We were wondering what Stevie was on about when she tweeted, "oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh". Stevie and Pippa??? Blimeyness. What will Olly think about his two ex-girlfriends getting closer?

Meanwhile the 'love triangle' just became a 'love pentagon '. Naz has attracted Sol, Asher, Ekin and now Fatboy?! He tweeted, "@badgal_naz looking boom today!" Could Naz be the next Mrs.Chubb? Ding dong!

Looks like that dream is ending before it's even begun. "Turkey here I come", tweeted Naz. Sol, what ARE you waiting for?? Get your act together and get your girl!

"What have I done?" tweeted @badgalnaz. Oh Naz! What have you done?! Whilst Naz went off for a snog fest with Asher, Sol and Stevie dealt with a blackout. Fatboy was not impressed "BLACKOUT, wagwan with the power?!"… "Swear that boy's DUMB".

At the club, Stevie somehow ended up grabbing Pippa's boobs… AGAIN. "What is wrong with me??" tweeted Stevie. LOL! How much do you wanna bet it happens again?

Looks like everyone in Walford's going dance crazy. Fatboy, Sol and Asher are training up, ready to dance with Flawless who tweeted to the one the only Fatboy. "Shout out back at my homeboyz @flawlessuk. Respect", replied @manlikefatboy. It ain't only Flawless that Fatboy's caught the attention of… He tweeted Omarion who replied "@manlikefatboy lol!!". LOL indeed.

From raps to gaps, Stevie and the GapYah guy have been reminiscing about Phi Phi. @GapYah tweeted, "You were HILARIOUS at Araminta's pad. Was it chunder central back Walford? Must visit your EastEnd pad soon for banter". Poor girl!

Olly's been up to his usual antics… "Off to claim what's rightfully mine!". He nicked back the memory bed. How does Olly sleep at night? Very comfortably, we imagine. At least Stevie's handling it well. She's already moving on... to MASOOD! "Oh, Masala Masood man, wherefore art thou?", Stevie gushed.

Flawless dance moves in E20

Flawless are going to be in E20 S2... Watch out Walford! Marlon 'SWOOSH' Wallen rested his dancing feet, sat back, and chatted about the experience on E20 S2.

"We were contacted by the Producer, Deborah Sathe, who is a good friend of mine. We'd worked together a few years ago on other projects. We are definitely fans of EastEnders and it was very exciting to be involved in playing a role, as Flawless. I remember all of us sitting in the Square saying "oh my goodness we are actually here!" Everyone was so friendly and we took loads of pictures.

Watching EastEnders you wouldn't normally see dance used within the show and for that reason with such a high profile programme and large viewing figures it's exciting because EastEnders: E20 is raising awareness of dance - it has loads of surprises and dance is one of them. It's what Flawless is all about, not only for dance but most importantly to encourage people to chase their dreams whatever they may be."

E20 gang settle into Walford

Am I alone in still jigging to the E20 theme tune? It's special. Another shout out goes to Carl Darling on that super-fly winning entry.

E20 has now aired it's first episode *huge cheers*. So, what did you all think of the new teenage residents who've moved into 89b? Did Fatboy float your boat? Has Mercy made you smile? Do you luuuuuurrrrrve Leon? Has Zsa Zsa given you the zig a zig ah?!

Not only did we see Lucy snogging the lips off of Leon ("don't touch the face"), but Fatboy foolishly let Mercy down with his website 'godlypodly' *sucks teeth*. Zsa Zsa had to run for her life from a fella in need of anger management classes. And what of Mercy taking a preggers' test!? Watch out for the blue lines, missus!

Quote of the episode:

"You disrespected my faith, Westwood. I don't know what I'm most vexed about - the fact that you had the live flash animation of the crusifixion playing to 99 Problems, or that you tried to charge for it!" Listen and learn, Fatboy. It's JC, not Jay-Z.
