The ground-breaking, award-winning Noughts and Crosses series, which transformed children’s literature, is returning to BBC One for a second series.

The first novel is part of the KS3 English curriculum in England, presenting an accessible way for young people to discuss racism and civil rights through an alternative universe. In it, black people ("Crosses") are the rulers and white people ("Noughts") are the underclass. A love story blossoms between a pair of childhood friends on either side.
