Which order should I multiply numbers in?

Part ofMaths and NumeracyNumbers and number processes

Fin and Snoot use multiplication to help them pack for a holiday.

Which order?

It doesn't matter which order you use to multiply numbers. The answer is always the same.

3 x 4 x 5 is always the same as 3 x 5 x 4 or even 5 x 4 x 3.

Top tip

If you are multiplying three or more numbers, see if there are two numbers you find easy to multiply and do this first.
