Here at BBC Radio Berkshire we've thrown ourselves headlong into the world of Strictly Come Dancing and bagged exclusive interviews with star dancers Ian Waite and Camilla Dallerup.

Ian and Camilla have been professional dance partners since 2004 - Ian lives in Lower Earley and Camilla told BBC Radio Berkshire's Richard Skinner that she'd been persuaded to take up residence in Berkshire!

"I kinda like Reading people, they're very loyal," says Camilla.

"I've even bought a place here now because they keep telling me how fabulous it is, and now I'm realising that.

"They always move back. They do move away for a while, but they always move back to Reading."

"Ian's adorable, he's my best friend," she adds. "I couldn't imagine life without him."

Ian and Penny

"I used to look at him and think: that guy's amazing, he's got long legs and long arms, we'd be really suited. Mum always said 'I love that dancer' and his dad said the same about me."

Meanwhile BBC Radio Berkshire's Andrew Peach has been catching up with Ian after he and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Penny survived Saturday's dance-off.

"It was very shocking," Ian told Andrew. "I came away feeling quite disappointed and very upset for Gabby, even though we'd got through.

"Berkshire, please! Come on, vote for the local boy, it's about time."

Ian Waite

"We took a bit of a risk with the costuming and style of the samba. It's generally known as a carnival, South American party dance, and we took a different approach.

"All the elements were in there but it was a different kind of samba. It paid off in the end."

And Ian had a plea for visitors to the BBC Berkshire website:

"This week we're dancing foxtrot, where we're most comfortable. So Berkshire, please! Come on, vote for the local boy, it's about time.

"I don't normally ask for votes but come on, let's do it!"
