Match Report
Pakistan v Northampton
Date:11/06/03 Pakistan v Northampton
Venue:Northampton

Pakistan's fortunes in England took an upturn as they completed a 62-run victory over Northants. The tourists, who begin a three-match one-day international series next week, suffered a 50-run defeat to Essex on Monday. But fortunes improved at Wantage Road as they racked up a challenging 298-7, thanks to half-centuries from opener Imran Nazir, Yousuf Youhana and Yasir Hameed.

Earlier, Nazir and Mohammad Hafeez laid the foundations with an opening partnership of 116, keeping the tempo at five runs per over throughout. Australian paceman Damien Wright, signed to replace South African Andre Nel during the forthcoming NatWest Series, marked his debut with the wicket of Shoaib Akhtar.

But Misbah-ul-Haq rounded off the innings in style with a huge six off Mike Cawdron in the final over. Cawdron also took wickets but conceded 70 runs from his 10 overs.
