Match Report
Pakistan v England
Date:17/06/03 Pakistan v England
Venue:Old Trafford - Manchester

Pakistan hang on to beat England by two wickets in the final over of the match.

Pakistan took the honours in the battle of the fledgling sides at Old Trafford. But only just. Rashid Latif's side beat Michael Vaughn's England by 2 wickets, with just 4 balls to spare. England batted first and got off to a great start, but from 106 for 3 in the 19th over, Pakistan started to claw their way back into the match. Shoaib Malik took 3 for 26 as England were restricted to 204 for 9, from their allotted overs.

Pakistan's openers then got off to a great start putting 60 on the board before the first wicket fell. Mohammed Hafeez went on to top score with 69, which was good enough to earn him the man-of-the-match award. Pakistan did wobble a little in the middle, then again towards the end, but the experienced head of Abdul Razzak saw them home.

England: 204 for 9 (50 overs)
Pakistan: 208 for 8 (49.2 overs)
