The path links Broughty Ferry with Dundee harbour |
A scenic coastal path, described as one of Dundee's "hidden treasures", has been officially opened after an 800,000 facelift. The walkway, which links the city's harbour with Broughty Ferry, was originally built in 1929.
Upgrading, over the past two years has involved resurfacing, barriers being replaced and the sea wall improved.
Local resident Jean Silvers, who was born in the year the path was built, cut a ribbon to open the walkway.
Dundee City Council's planning and transport convener, Fraser Macpherson, said: "Despite being well used, I think this amenity is perhaps one of the hidden treasures of the city, offering as it now does uninterrupted views across the river to Fife.
"The programme of improvement works has added to the usability and charm of the walkway."
