DJ plans third beach party
Crowds
250,000 people attended the event in 2002
Brighton-based DJ Norman Cook is in talks with the city council over plans to stage a third party on the seafront.

Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, last staged a concert on the beach in 2002.

Thousands of people attended the event, leading to a number of injuries and jammed transport routes.

It is thought that if an event does go ahead next year, it is likely to be a smaller, ticket-only affair, restricted to residents in Brighton.

Only 60,000 had been expected to attend the Big Beach Boutique, but the situation spiralled out of control after 250,000 partygoers attended the concert.

Thousands of people were left stranded in the city and forced to sleep on the beach.
