Yorkshire has scooped five awards at the national tourism "Oscars" ceremony. Attractions in the region picked up three gold and two silver medals handed out by Visit Britain, the former British Tourist Authority, in London.
Gold awards went to: Far Grange Caravan Park, Skipsea, East Yorkshire; the Swinton Park Hotel in Masham, North Yorkshire; and Thackray Museum, Leeds.
Yorkshire Tourist Board chief executive David Andrews hailed the success of the attractions.
Silver award winners were Shoreline Cottages, a Leeds-based company letting holiday cottages in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and the Pickering tourist information centre in North Yorkshire.
"It is outstanding that out of 10 categories Yorkshire should be awarded in five," said Mr Andrews.
The awards were presented at Kensington Palace by the Duke of Kent, who said: "These awards pay tribute to the very best English tourism has to offer."
