Volunteers join lake spring clean
Windermere
The area is popular with tourists to the Lake District
The annual spring clean is taking place along the shores of one of England's largest and busiest lakes.

Volunteers and helpers from environmental organisations are taking part in the project at Windermere in the Lake District.

They were spending Saturday trawling along the edge of the lake removing the waste that built up during the winter.

The lake is home to many species of birds, fish and plants and visited by millions of tourists every year.
