Jersey's former prisoners are set to receive help to find jobs from a group of volunteers to try and stop them re-offending. Twelve people are being trained by Jersey's Probation Service this weekend at Highland College as part of a mentoring scheme.
The dozen volunteers were selected from 16 applicants.
They will work with ex-prisoners who have been released on probation, helping them find jobs and become law-abiding citizens.
The mentoring schemes have proved successful in the UK at giving offenders more support within the community.
The training is being organised by the Probation Service.
