 Huw Edwards will continue to front the 10 O'Clock News |
Newsreader Huw Edwards is to begin hosting a new slot on BBC News 24 on Monday, focussing on breaking news and high-profile interviews. The Welsh journalist will continue to front BBC One's flagship 10 O'Clock News programme.
The One, Six and 10 O'Clock news bulletins will also be broadcast on News 24 from Monday, while Edwards will host his one hour slot from 1700.
Edwards was one of the first presenters on News 24 when it launched in 1997.
He has previously worked on the Six O'Clock News, Panorama and Breakfast before joining the 10 O'Clock News in 2003 as its sole presenter.
As part of his News 24 slot he will mainly be dealing with breaking news as well as working with a small team to bring viewers additional discussions on the day's events.
