New partnership oversees heritage
Responsibility for more of Jersey's historic buildings is being taken over by the island's Heritage Trust.

A new partnership has been created between the trust and the States' Planning Committee.

It will take charge of the Historic Buildings' Register and oversee archaeological sites.

Stuart Fell, Assistant Director of Design and Conservation at Planning, said it would mean historic buildings were better protected.

It is hoped the transfer of responsibility will mean more information and research can be carried out on important island properties by the Trust.
