High Court halts quarry plans
Plans to use land to unload stone and gravel from quarries have been put on hold after a High Court ruling.

Swindon Borough Council was opposed to the plans by Hanson Quarry Products because it felt they would create too much noise and dust.

A judge has ruled that the plans in the Great Western Railway Conservation area near Swindon, should be reconsidered.

It was thought planning inspectors who agreed the plans did not properly take into account restrictions on noise levels.
